General Idea Behind Unit:
Guiding Question- Whats the *best* week-long four person trip that you can design to fit a 1000 per person budget? Basic Idea- Fast forward to college graduation, 2027. You and your group of friends are planning a trip over the second week of June, when you all will have arrived back in Durango from your far-flung adventures. Each of the four of you have saved up $1000 for your trip together, and are committed to getting out of the 4-corners. Where will you go? This unit, you will explore algebraic expressions and equations, graphs, rate of change, dimensional analysis, and spreadsheets, as you work within the constraints of your budget and time frame, but play with the many variables of your trip. (Car, bus, plane, or train? Food? Groceries or restaurants? Accommodations? etc.) |
